Shackles & Brackets

These are parts of a vehicle’s suspension that attach the leaf spring to the vehicle’s frame.A shackle, also known as a gyve, is a U-shaped piece of metal secured with a clevis pin or bolt across the opening, or a hinged metal loop secured with a quick-release locking pin mechanism.

Description

  • Fitting these will give a much smoother ride
  • shackles allow free movement of the axle
  • A shackle has two main paths, the body and the pin
  • Their size is determined by the diameter of the body material, rather than the diameter of the pin.
